Chris Cole

Chris Cole took over the reigns of the John Brown University men's soccer team in the summer of 2020 and enters his fourth season at the helm.

Cole spent the last 17 years at Grace International School (Chiang Mai, Thailand) as a coach, teacher and athletics director. While serving as the boy's soccer and boy's futsal head coach, he also served as middle school and religious studies (secondary) department head. While at Grace, the boy's soccer squad captured the Chiang Mai Athletic Conference (CMAC) tournament title 12 of the 14 years Cole manned the helm of the squad. As athletics director, Cole oversaw sport offerings from third through twelfth grade, including boy's and girl's soccer, basketball, volleyball, swimming, cross country and badminton.

Before a two-year stint at Galatian Academy in Ankara, Turkey, Cole spent seven seasons at NCAA II Colorado Christian from 1989-96. After a pair of seasons as assistant coach, Cole took the reigns of the program for five years in Lakewood, Colo.

The tall center back wore the Blue and Gold for four seasons from 1984-87, appearing in 61 contests and racking up three goals and one assist (nine points) from the back line. The three-time NCCAA All-District selection led John Brown to a 35-26-9 (.658) record over the four seasons and helped the Golden Eagles to an NCCAA National Championship as a freshman. While he patrolled the back line, JBU allowed an 1.49 goals-against average during his collegiate career.

The 1987 JBU graudate earned a Bachelor of Arts in broadcast journalism, and while coaching at Colorado Christian, completed his Master of Education at Regis University in 2003.

Cole and his wife, Kellie, reside in Siloam Springs and have three adult children: Jessica, Cameron '13 and Corey '16.

Ryan Williams

Ryan Williams, a former Golden Eagle men’s soccer standout, enters his third season as an assistant coach at John Brown University in 2023.

Williams returns to JBU after playing a pair of seasons professionally for the USL Championship's New Mexico United from 2019-20. As a midfielder, Williams made 31 appearances for the Somos Unidos and registered two goals and one assist (five points) in his professional career.

The former Golden Eagle captain was named the Sooner Athletic's Offensive Player of the Year in 2018, and earned All-Conference honors in each of his four seasons in the blue and gold. Spanning 73 collegiate contests, Williams finished his collegiate career with 27 goals and 37 assists (91 points). Boasting the program's highest career point total since 2001 (Leo Peirano), Williams' 37 assists finished tied for second all-time, just one shy of Terry Brown's record of 38, set in 1993.

In the summer of 2017, Williams captained the Charlotte Eagles to a USL League Two title, scoring the championship-winning goal and claiming the Man of the Match honors.

Williams graduated from JBU in 2019 with a Bachelor of Arts in Biblical and Theological Studies. He is currently pursuing a Master of Arts in Theological Studies at Life Pacific University.

I have had a profile on SINC Soccer for 4 years, and it helped me to organize my information so that I was ready when the recruiting process started. I had selected some schools using your site when I was 13 and that helped to start the conversation with those schools and find out about their ID camps, and when UNC made an offer I was prepared.
