Joseph Campbell

Joseph Campbell was named head coach of the Dean College men's soccer program in June of 2018 and returns for his third season at the helm of the Bulldogs in 2020. In June 2019, Campbell was elevated to Assistant Athletic Director, overseeing game management and operations.

In his first two seasons, Campbell has replinshed the roster with talent and developed a program culture that has helped establish Dean as one of the program's on the rise in the region.

Campbell arrived at Dean following eight seasons at Mount Ida College in Newton, Mass., where he led the Mustangs to seven playoff appearances and was twice named Great Northeast Atlantic Conference (GNAC) Coach of the Year (2013, 2015).

Prior to his time on the men's side, Campbell spent eight seasons coaching the Mustang women. In his first three seasons (2000-02), he was named GNAC Coach of the Year (2001) and guided Mount Ida to three straight North Atlantic Conference championship games, including the league championship in 2001. Overall, he finished as the College's all-time leader in wins on the women's side (69) and had student-athletes named to the all-conference team 18 times.

Before entering the coaching world, Campbell starred as an undergraduate at Mount Ida in the mid-1990's when it was still a junior college, earning first-team All-New England accolades in 1993 and 1994.

Campbell returned to his native Ireland in 2003 where he played semi-professional soccer for Monaghan United. He rejoined the Mount Ida staff as an assistant coach on the women's soccer team in 2004 and then returned to the helm for the 2005 season.

Before joining Mount Ida's coaching staff in 2000, Campbell served as the assistant men's soccer coach at Lasell College for three years.

He holds a United States Soccer Federation (USSF) "B" national license along with a NSCAA advanced national diploma.

Campbell earned a bachelor of arts degree in liberal studies in 2006 from Framingham State.

This site helped me establish communications with several colleges. The ability to contact colleges that interested me and research information about them was very helpful.
