Robin Hart

Robin Hart was named the eighth head coach of the CSUEB women's soccer program in March of 2018, and enters her sixth year leading the program in 2023. Hart previously spent the 2017 season as head coach at Menlo College.


A native of San Francisco, Hart is a graduate of the 2021 NCAA Women Coaches Academy Class #50, and holds a United Soccer Coaches Premier License as well as a United State Soccer Federation National C License. She earned a bachelor's degree in criminal justice from SF State in 2009, and a master's degree in coaching and athletic administration from Concordia-Irvine in 2017.


In 2019, Hart led the Pioneers to 6-9-3 overall record in 2019, which featured a three-match conference winning streak and East Bay's most CCAA conference victories since 2011 (5). In addition, CSUEB played No. 1-ranked UC San Diego to a scoreless tie and earned a road win at Chico State for its first victory over the Wildcats since 1989. Midfielder Lauren McDougal earned All-CCAA Second Team and CCA All-West Region Second Team honors, while Riley Spitzer was named CCAA Newcomer of the Year.


During her first season as head coach in 2018, Hart lifted the Pioneers to a 7-8-3 record, including a a 5-0 start to the season which was the program's best start since joining the CCAA in 2009. In the process, Savannah Schultz and Jamie McPherson both earned CCAA Honorable Mention.


At Menlo College, Hart guided the Oaks to an 11-5-3 overall record, the program's best since 2014, while out-scoring opponents 34-17 for the season. Menlo received votes on the NAIA top-25 poll for the first time in program history, with three players selected to the All-Golden State Athletic Conference Team and one named an NAIA All-American. She had five student-athletes earn a spot on the GSAC Scholar Team as the squad posted a 3.31 collective grade point average.


A veteran of the California Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA), Hart spent two seasons as the top assistant coach at Sonoma State prior to taking the head position at Menlo. During her tenure in Rohnert Park, the Seawolves posted a 26-6-6 record, captured the 2015 CCAA regular season championship, and made back-to-back NCAA tournament appearances.


Hart handled a multitude of duties at SSU, including recruiting, practice planning, video analysis, camps, fundraising, academic support, and the team's strength and conditioning program. While coaching at Sonoma, she also served as head coach of the Santa Rosa United Soccer Club and assistant coach for the Region IV Olympic Development Program. Prior to that, Hart spent three seasons as an assistant coach at her alma mater, San Francisco State. She also worked with youth players during that time, serving for six seasons as head coach of East Bay United Soccer Club in Oakland, Calif.


In addition to her extensive coaching experience in the CCAA, Hart also enjoyed a standout collegiate career as a student-athlete. She spent her last two seasons with SF State after transferring from Cal State Bakersfield and captured All-CCAAhonors both years. As a senior in 2008, Hart led the team in goals and points, captaining the Gators to an appearance in the CCAA championship game and a berth in the NCAA tournament. That season, she was a First Team All-West Region and CoSIDA Academic All-District honoree, SF State's Most Outstanding Student-Athlete, and a recipient of the CCAA's prestigious Dr. Hal Charnofsky award.

Jessica Clinton

Jessica Clinton was joined the coaching staff as Assistant Women's Soccer Coach for Cal State East Bay in August 2023.


Clinton brings a wealth of soccer experience to the Pioneers, including coaching at the professional, collegiate and club levels.


In 2023, Clinton was named the first head coach in the history of Oakland Soul SC.


Before coaching the Soul, Clinton's coaching experience includes:

Director of Soccer - South Shore Select (Girls Soccer Academy near Boston) - 2022-2023

Associate Head Coach - Boston University - 2007-2014, 2022

Head Coach - Fordham University - 2014-2021

Assistant Coach - St. John's University - 2006-2007

Throughout her coaching career, multiple players under her guidance went on to play professional soccer in NWSL and Euroipean Leagues, with some even appearing in World Cup competition.


As a goalkeeper for BU, Clinton sits atop the school record book for saves in a season (98) and saves in a career (312). She ranks seventh in Terrier history in goals-against-average (1.10) and sixth in career save percentage (.802). She was the 2003 America East Goalkeeper of the Year and a two-time All-Conference First Team honoree. Clinton also was named to the NSCAA All-Northeast Region Team as a senior.


In 2003, she trained with the Boston Breakers of the Women's United Soccer Association.


Clinton is originally from Valley Stream, New York where she attended Valley Stream Central High School.


She earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Hospitality Administration in 2004 from Boston University.


Clinton holds a US Soccer C and B License as well as a United Soccer Coaches National and Advanced National Diploma.

Anne Whipple

Anne Whipple was named Assistant Women's Soccer Coach for the Cal State East Bay in April 2022.


Before joining the Pioneers, Whipple served as Head Coach for Holy Names University during the 2021 season.


Additionally her collegiate coaching experience includes serving as Assistant Women's Soccer Coach at Saint Mary's College of California from March 2019 to February 2020. At SMC, Whipple was the program's recruiting coordinator, monitored academics, coordinated travel, oversaw budgeting, set pieces, organized equipment and oversaw video analysis. At SMC, Whipple was Director of Soccer Operations prior to being named as an assistant coach. She also served as Assistant Women’s Soccer Coach at Central Washington University from July 2017 to February 2018.


In addtion to collegiate soccer, Whipple has coached at the club level, including a year as Head Girls Soccer Coach, U11 for San Ramon FC and over four years with Diablo FC as Head and Assistant Girls Coach, U15, U17, U18.


Whipple played in the San Ramon WPSL and as a student-athlete at SMC, served as team captain for the Gaels.


Whipple graduated Cum Laude in 2016 with Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology from Saint Mary’s College of California.
