Boys College ShowcaseMy name is Eduardo de Souza and I am currently the Head Men’s Soccer Coach and International Director at Richard Bland College of William and Mary. Richard Bland is a 2-year college located just outside of Richmond in Petersburg, Virginia. Our men’s soccer program has most recently posted its winningest season ever finishing 12-7-2 while being crowned the CHAMPION of the NJCAA Region X Conference, the most competitive NJCAA men’s soccer conference in the country. Through our title winning season, the program beat many nationally ranked opponents and even knocked out the defending national champion in the semi-final of the region tournament. We moved on 9 student/athletes to 4 year Institutions. 2 on NCAA D I, 4 on NCAA D II and 3 on the NCAA D III. We are current 11-1-0 and ranked # 16 in the Nation http://www.rbcathletics.com/sports/msoc/2017-18/releases/20171003kyjs8f http://www.progress-index.com/sports/20171002/richard-bland-soccer-getting-better-and-better At Richard Bland, my primary goal is to help you develop in the classroom and on the field in a more cost efficient environment all while preparing you to move on to a 4-year college that may seem more difficult to achieve while you are still a senior in high school. Unlike many other 2-year colleges, we have a beautiful campus with apartment style dorms, a dining hall, and athletic facilities on campus. In the summer of 2017, the soccer field will be re-done to create a great natural grass playing surface located directly in the middle of campus. Along with a new example, if you graduate from Richard Bland with a 3.25 GPA, then you will be guaranteed admittance into the College of William and Mary. Additionally, most of the 4-year institutions in the state will offer scholarship money to you simply for graduating from Richard Bland College and attaining your associate’s degree. We have a new soccer field, Richard Bland is also in the middle of creating a state-of-the-art indoor training facility that will be equipped with a turf playing surface and will be ideal for small-sided playing and for sports performance training by our two qualified sports performance coaches. I have a tremendous amount of experience working and playing in the NCAA Division I. During these experiences, we have made numerous contacts with coaches of all levels to enable you to be seen by and eventually recruited by the school that will best suit you moving forward. I worked as an Assistant Coach at Mercer University before leaving to become the Associate Head Coach at Longwood University from 2009-2014 and then eventually becoming the Head Coach here at Richard Bland College. Academically, Richard Bland College is owned by the College of William and Mary and has automatic acceptance agreements with all of the schools in Virginia, including the likes of Virginia Tech, William and Mary, and the University of Virginia.
