Payton is a very hard-working and driven young lady. Her physical gifts and personal desires and determination to succeed have projected her to one of the top players on both her club and high school teams. She is also an excellent student- with the same dedication and commitment and a desire to better the world thru Science. She is committed to being a well rounded individual by focusing on academics, athletics and philanthropic activities and will be an excellent addition to any school she attends. Her work ethic and desire to continue to grow make her an excellent role model and teammate.

To Whom It May Concern,
I had the genuine pleasure of coaching Payton Waller for 2 years during her 7th and 8th grade
school soccer experience at Holly Ridge Middle School in Holly Springs, NC. Payton impressed
me from the first time I saw how she played. She is one of the more aggressive players I have
had the pleasure of coaching; however, she is intelligent with her aggressive play. Many times,
the word aggressive is associated with reckless and players who fit this description get into
trouble with their excessive fouls or causing injuries. Payton has a natural intelligence of
knowing when to engage in a tackle or when it is smarter to hold off and wait for the player to
make their move. 9/10 she reads the situation correctly and ends up winning the 1v1
interaction, which is why she started as my attacking midfielder for both her 7th and 8th grade
years playing for me.
Her awareness of how to use her body is very effective in winning 1v1 situations, but she also is
great at holding off a defender to buy time for a forward or midfielder to run into space. She
then consistently would make sure the pass found the feet of her teammates. Her passing and
shooting accuracy was well above the average middle school player. She was one of the
leading 3 players for goals AND assists in both her years I coached her. Goals being scored not
only by her powerful shot, but by her head as well.
In addition to Payton to being one of the key components to her team’s success on the field her
leadership and support of her teammates earned her one of the captain’s bands for her 8th
grade season. Payton’s captaincy helped lead the team to an undefeated season, conference
champions, and an MVP award voted on by the players and coaches. Payton was a vital
component of every success the team experienced in her 2 years playing for me.
I have coached some incredible players in my years as a coach, but Payton always sticks out as
one of the best and brightest players I have every had the pleasure of coaching. I know I could
always count on her and I know that wherever her soccer career takes her all of her coaches
and fellow players will feel the same way.
