TIES IN BRACKET STANDINGS AT END OF PRELIMINARY ROUND OF PLAY -In the event of a tie within a bracket after preliminary games are complete, the following tiebreakers will be used to determine the winner of the bracket:
Winner of head to head competition, if only 2 teams are tied at the top of the bracket. If more than 2 teams are tied at the top of the bracket, go to rule 2.
Points for Goal Differential: Up to 6 per game.
Most goals scored by a team during the preliminary round of play. Maximum of 6
goals counted per match.
Most matches won by shutout in the preliminary round of play.
Fewest Goals Allowed in preliminary round of play.
Our goal is to avoid penalty kicks as a way to break a tie. If we are able eliminate one team from a three team tie using the first 5 tiebreakers then head to head will decide the tiebreaker for the remaining two teams. (Only used if still tied going into PK TB).
7. Penalty kicks between the teams in question, taken using FIFA rules. (Coin Toss desired by both coaches)
If 3 or more teams are tied after step 5, the event director will advise
