Eligibility
The OGFC Thanksgiving Showcase is an unrestricted tournament and is open to premier and elite teams registered and in good standing with their USSF affiliated association. All affiliations may apply. The Showcase will take place over the three day weekend, November 27-29, 2015. All age groups listed below will play one match per day.
U14 - Born between Aug 1, 2001 and July 31, 2002
U15 - Born between Aug 1, 2000 and July 31, 2001
U16 - Born between Aug 1, 1999 and July 31, 2000
U17 - Born between Aug 1, 1998 and July 31, 1999
U18/19 - Born between Aug 1, 1996 and July 31, 1998
Divisions
Teams will be grouped according to past playing record to make the most competitive divisions possible. The Ohio Galaxies Thanksgiving Showcase Committee alone determines final placement. The Committee uses many factors when ranking teams including league division and record, State Cup and tournament results, USA Rank ranking service, etc.
Teams
All teams and players must be USSF affiliated for the current seasonal year. USSF roster and current player cards are required to participate. Each roster must include the number of the players' jersey participating in the tournament. Notification of travel is required for all USYS teams from outside of Ohio South unless you are a U.S. Club soccer member.
Players and Guest Players
All players must by registered for the current seasonal year. A player may play for only one team during the tournament. Maximum roster size is 18 for U14, U15 & U16, 22 for U17 & U18/19. A maximum of 6 guest players per team is allowed. Guest players must be registered and have a current player pass issued by the same organization as the team is rostered with.
Format
Each team will play three games with a group champion named based on the results. Since this is a Showcase event, no championship games will be played.
U14-U16: 40 minute halves
U17-U18/19: 40 minute halves
Playing Sites
All of our matches will be played on state-of-the-art synthetic turf fields.
Field locations include Athletes in Action, Wright State University, University of Dayton and several local high school facilities.
Fees and Deadlines
All entries and fees are due October 17, 2015. U14-U18/19 fee: $700.
On-line application
The on-line application process is quick and easy and may be paid by credit card or check. If paying by check, we must receive your check within one week of your application. Once your application and fee is received and accepted, the fee is non-refundable. (If your team is not accepted, your application fee will be returned in its entirety.) While we encourage you to enter early, early application does not guarantee acceptance.
Check-In
Teams are required to check-in at the field of their first match at least 1 hour prior to their first game on Friday.
College Coaches
The OGFC Thanksgiving College Showcase will prepare a book of team information for U15, U16, U17 and U18/19 age teams to assist the college coaches in their scouting efforts. Please complete the necessary information on the college section of the website.
