Alexa Pittman

Coach Pittman spent the last four years as the head coach of the Baldwin Middle-Senior High School Indians from 2019-2023. She took over a team that won only one game in 2018 and turned the Indians into a 10-win team and a district contender. “Within those four years,” said Coach Pittman, “we built a team that students wanted to be a part of. We were able to hold full rosters and compete in a way the school had never done before. I built up and developed athletes that had zero to minimal soccer experience and turned them into a team in which other schools recognized as great competition.”

Known as Alexa Goodwin during her Trinity Baptist career, Coach Pittman was the first player ever to sign with TBC Women’s Soccer, which started in 2015, and she is proud to have become a pioneer of the team. “I was a part of the first ever season for the TBC women’s soccer program,” she proclaims.

Pittman was among the team’s first three players to graduate as four-year TBC Eagles. She was a starting right back for all four years and scored a goal each season as a defender. She made the All-South Region team multiple times and earned the coach’s award in her junior season.

When asked why she chose to coach the Eagles, Pittman cited the opportunity to return to the place where she grew to love the game, drew closer to the Lord, and met the man she would eventually marry. “I chose to expand my coaching resume and come to TBC because it is a place that holds so much value to me,” she said.

“At TBC I met and played with some of my best friends whom I am still in contact with today. I grew in my faith and walk with Christ. I found my passion for teaching the youth and ministering into their lives. I fell back in love with the sport of soccer. It’s because of the coaches I had the opportunity to play under that I knew I wanted to become a coach myself. They pushed me both on and off the field to be the person I am today. It was also at TBC where I met my husband and where we both bonded over the love of soccer. TBC is a lot of things to me; it truly is home and a place that built me.”

Coach Pittman hopes to impact her players in similar ways. “I want to give back to a school that gave so much to me and my family,” she said.

Coach Pittman is ready to win now. “I come hungry for a championship. Coach Calder has done such a great job with this team and has left me with a great group of girls. As a coach I always say no matter how hard it might be or how many obstacles are in the way, quitting is never an option. I am a firm believer that building strong relationships with my players is the true key to success. I will build a culture in which players aren’t worrying about themselves and their success but the success of their teammates and program as a whole.”

Her favorite Bible passage is Ephesians 2:1-10, which discusses redemption from sin. “These verses explain that while we were dead in our sin, God sent His son to die for us. ‘For you are saved by grace through faith, and this is not from yourselves; it is God’s gift?—?not from works, so that no one can boast’ (verses 8-9). This passage is what keeps me grounded in that no matter my success in life, it is not mine; it belongs to the Lord.”

Alexa’s husband, Brenner, will serve as the team’s assistant coach as he did at Baldwin. Brenner is a former TBC Men’s Soccer player who played in multiple NCCAA National Tournaments. The couple has two beautiful children, Baylor and Aspyn, who will cheer on the Eagles from the side lines.

This site helped me establish communications with several colleges. The ability to contact colleges that interested me and research information about them was very helpful.
