Anthony Yousey was hired as men’s soccer head coach at OBU prior to the 2013 season.
The Bison have amassed a 37-55-2 record under Yousey, including an 11-7 record in GAC play. He's produced two NCCAA All-Americans and two CoSIDA Academic All-Americans, as well as nine all-region, six academic all-region, 18 all-conference and one NAIA Scholar Athlete. He's also instructed two GAC Offensive Players of the Year, a GAC Defensive Player of the Year and one GAC Freshman of the Year.
Yousey led the program to a 7-9-1 record in 2017, reaching the GAC Tournament for a third consecutive year before the Bison bowed out in the GAC Semifinals. Michael Stewart was awarded as a CoSIDA Academic All-American.
The Bison claimed their first regular season Great American Conference championship after posting a 5-1 record in league play in 2016 under Yousey's direction. Oklahoma Baptist ultimately reached the National Christian College Athletic Association (NCCAA) National Semifinals. Along the way, David Estrada and Thiago Dos Santos were honored as NCCAA All-Americans.
Yousey’s squad enjoyed a banner season in 2015, claiming second place in both the regular season and at the Great American Conference Tournament. Under his direction, the Bison saw the rise of Vicente Castillo and David Estrada, who were named the GAC Offensive and Defensive Players of the Year. Oklahoma Baptist placed four on the All-GAC squad, including three first team selections.
Upon arrival in Shawnee, Yousey took a team that won just one game the year prior and pushed them to 3-13 record. The squad more than doubled its previous win total from 2013, notching seven wins in Yousey’s second term, while Pablo Garcia earned All-Sooner Athletic Conference second team honors.
Prior to coaching on Bison Hill, he worked as the Technical Director of Norman Youth Soccer since 2004, and was the head coach at Southmoore High School from 2009-2012.
He played in the USISL soccer league from 1997-2001, playing with the Oklahoma City Slickers and the Oklahoma City Alliance.
Yousey graduated from Southwestern Oklahoma State in 2001. He played college soccer at St. Gregory’s University and at Southwestern Oklahoma State University.
He married his wife Amy in 2000. They have two sons, Xavier and Isaiah.
