Dave Sexton

Dave Sexton has just completed his fifth season as Head Coach of the Men's soccer team at GMC. The team was Region 17 Champions and made the South East District Tournament for the last three seasons, and this year made the NJCAA National Tournament (12 teams) for the first time in the program’s history. The team’s record for the 2018 campaign was an impressive 14-4-1, and their five-year record under Coach Sexton is 62-22-2.

Before coming to GMC, Coach Sexton spent two years as an assistant coach at Southern Polytechnic State University (NAIA) and one year at Georgia Perimeter College (NAIA). Prior to that, he spent 13 successful years as the Head Coach at Louisburg College in North Carolina. During his time as the head coach at Louisburg, he compiled an overall record of 196-55-11. The team made six trips to the NJCAA National Tournament and was a National Semi-Finalist three times. Coach Sexton was named Region X Coach of the Year on eight occasions and South East District coach five times. Coach Sexton’s overall collegiate head coaching record is 258-77-13 in 18 seasons.

Coach Sexton has over 20 years’ experience coaching soccer in the UK and the US-in addition to coaching at the college level, he has club coaching experience in his native country England, as we as club and ODP experience in both North Carolina and Georgia. He holds a Union of European Football Association (UEFA) "A" coaching license and a United States Soccer Federation(USSF) "A" coaching license.

David Cox

David Cox is entering his second season as assistant coach for men's soccer. The Memphis native came to Milledgeville after being heavily involved as an administrator and club coach for multiple seasons. He has been a collegiate soccer referee and officiated at the state and regional level for close to 20 years. He holds a Goalkeeping and National Diploma from the NSCAA, as well as USSF coaching Licenses. During his time at GMC; the Bulldogs won their region, qualified for the District tournament, achieved a #1 ranking in the nation for 3 weeks and subsequently qualified for the NJCAA national tournament in Daytona, FL.

“I was very excited to get this opportunity to become the assistant coach at Georgia Military College. It makes it even more exciting to have another year working with coach Sexton and the players to achieve our goals and build on last years success."

Cox graduated Cum Laude from Ole Miss with a bachelor's degree and is currently pursuing a M.S. of Science in Sports Administration from Arkansas State University.
