Dale Armistead

Coach Armistead was born and raised in St. Louis, MO. He played for several different clubs in the St. Louis area during his time growing up, and played four years at Lindbergh High School, graduating in 1990. “I am super proud to have been a part of Flyer nation and wearing the green and gold”

Armistead then accepted an offer to continue his education and soccer career at Brescia University. Coach Armistead won many awards during his time as a player for the Bearcats, being named an All-American in 1993. Armistead continued with the program in 1995 as an assistant coach, as well as, beginning his club coaching career for Owensboro United Soccer Club.

In 2012, Armistead and his family, moved to Louisville, KY, where he continued his coaching career. He coached one season as head coach of the Shelby County Rockets, before accepting a position as head junior varsity coach and assistant varsity coach with powerhouse, Louisville Trinity HS. While in Louisville, Armistead also coached for the Thoroughbreds and KY Fire Jrs. Armistead coached for Kentucky Olympic Development Program (ODP) at various times in his career.

Coach Armistead has been coaching club, high school, futsal or college soccer teams ever since, and we are thrilled to announce that Coach Armistead is coming back home to Brescia University this fall as the men’s head soccer coach. When he takes the field this season with the men’s team it will mark his 27th year coaching soccer. We are super excited to have one of our own leading the program in the right direction. Coach Armistead ‘s philosophy is simple: train, think and play with intensity, heart and passion every time you step onto the field of play.

Coach Armistead owes his success to his wife of 26 years, Lucy Armistead. He has 3 grown children, Kyler (25), Lainey (22) and Declan (20) all of whom have also played soccer at a high level.
