Eligibility
The Atletico Flames Spring Thaw is an unrestricted tournament and is open to all classics, premier and elite teams registered and in good standing with their USSF affiliated association. weekend. All age groups listed below will be accepted.

U09 - Born between Aug 1, 2004 and July 31, 2005
U10 - Born between Aug 1, 2003 and July 31, 2004
U11 - Born between Aug 1, 2002 and July 31, 2003
U12 - Born between Aug 1, 2001 and July 31, 2002
U13 - Born between Aug 1, 2000 and July 31, 2001
U14
- Born between Aug 1, 1999 and July 31, 2000
U15 - Born between Aug 1, 1998 and July 31, 1999
U16 - Born between Aug 1, 1997 and July 31, 1998
U17 - Born between Aug 1, 1996 and July 31, 1997
U18 - Born between Aug 1, 1995 and July 31, 1996

Divisions
Teams will be grouped according to past playing record to make the most competitive divisions possible. The AFFC Spring Thaw Tournament Committee alone determines final placement. The Committee uses many factors when ranking teams including league division and record, State Cup and tournament results, USA Rank ranking service, etc.

Teams
All teams and players must be USSF affiliated for the current seasonal year. USSF roster and current player cards are required to participate. Each roster must include the number of the players' jersey participating in the tournament. Notification of travel is required for all USYS teams from outside of Kentucky.

Players and Guest Players
All players must be registered for the current seasonal year. A player may play for only one team during the tournament, unless approved by the tournament director. Maximum roster size is 12 for U9 & U10, 16 for U11 & U12 and 18 for U13 and above.   A maximum of 3 guest players per team is allowed.  Guest players must be registered and have a current player pass.

Format
Each team will play a minimum of three games. 

U9 – U10: 25 minute halves
U11 – U12: 30 minute halves
U13 – U16: 35 minute halves
U17 – U18: 40 minutes halves
Please let us know if your team is interested in playing Friday night.

Playing Site
The host site of this event is the state of the art, Kentucky’s newest sports Park, Elizabethtown Sports Park.  The alternate location will be Mike Carroll Soccer Complex., both located in Elizabethtown, KY.   The park is located on 158 acres featuring 2 full- size synthetic turf fields, 7 full- size natural turf fields and 3 smaller fields all lit with Musco sports lighting.   There are 3 pavilions, concessions, Wi-Fii throughout the park and a 3 miles walking path around the perimeter of the park.

Fees and Deadlines
All entries and fees are due February 16, 2014.

U9Academy fee: $300.
U10 fee: $400.
U11/12 fee: $500.
U13/14 fee: $550.
U15/16 fee: $600.
U17/18 fee: $650.

On-line application
The on-line application process is quick and easy and must be paid by check. We must receive your check within two weeks of your application. Once your application and fee is received and accepted, the fee is non-refundable. (If your team is not accepted, your application fee will be returned in its entirety.) While we encourage you to enter early, early application does not guarantee acceptance.

Tournament Cancellation/Refund Policy

The Tournament Directors reserve the right to restructure the tournament format as necessary. This includes, but is not limited to relocating or rescheduling any match; changing the duration of any match; and canceling any preliminary match or part of a match.

Refund Policy should games not be played due to extreme weather conditions:  We will be refunding 80% of the full entry fee if no games are played, 50% if 1 game is played, 25% if 2 games are played.

Check-In
There will be FRIDAY NIGHT CHECK-IN. Teams are required to check-in Friday night unless located outside of a 50 mile radius or not traveling Friday night.  Minimal Saturday morning check-in will be available but arrangements need to be made prior with the tournament director.

College Coaches
The AFFC Spring Thaw will prepare a book of team information for U15, U16, U17 and U18 age teams to assist the college coaches in their scouting efforts. Please complete the necessary information on the college section of the website.
