Teams with State cup, Regional and National results are "seeded". Depending on how well they did, a ranking is assigned and a weight is awarded. Success in the National competition is particularly relevant since teams play at their peak and are expected to be at their finest.
Since we look at competition and results and not the league, tournament or division where the game is played, the seeding is absolutely necessary to spread out the teams. The younger ages are more difficult since the National tournament series is not included. Therefore, we must define certain top-divisons at the most competitive regional tournaments and use them for seeding. This places those teams in the highest rankings. Of course, games against those teams or teams that have played those teams allows all younger teams the opportunity to be ranked at the highest level.

For the seeding, a weight of 9 wins is awarded. This is "as if" 9 matches were played with the same result. The final rating is calculated by adding the rating of all included matches and dividing by the number of included matches. The seeding is not always "included" and all of the games are not included.
ALL ties are included. To achieve the most accurate results, wins are never included if they would lower your teams rating and losses are not included if they would raise your teams rating.
For example, let's say your team is rated at 8. You beat a team rated at 6 with a score of 2-0 so your game result is awarded at 6.2 (.1 for each of the goals in the differential up to a maximum of .3) This result is not included since it would only reduce your team's rating and doesn't really provide any additional information towards rating your team.
Game ratings are show in red if they are included in your final result.

Congratulations! That's a great accomplishment and you'll have a chance at regionals to move yourself on up in the rankings.
However, our rankings wouldn't be very accurate or scientific if your rating was absolutely determined by the outcome of one game. We certainly give a lot of weight to those results and apply the weight to your team's rating.

Over time teams change due to training, growth and personnel changes. Therefore, games in the past 30 days receive a weight of 3 and games in the three months prior to them receive a weight of 2.
