Philosophy

The Southern Regional Soccer League was developed as a means for top level clubs in the southeastern region to compete with one another in an environment that gives the clubs a maximum amount of freedom. The league includes teams from Virginia, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee and Georgia.

The league has a single season which runs from September through April. Teams also have the freedom to self-schedule their matches.  Because of this, the SRSL allows teams to fit in league play with their state league schedules, tournament schedules and high school schedules, as they see fit. The Southern Regional Soccer League was developed as a means for clubs to enhance their competitive playing season, without giving up play in other avenues (such as state leagues).

For age groups U15 and above, league standings and player statistics will be kept.  Teams and players will be able to create and update player profiles which will be visible by college coaches. At the end of the league season for U15 and above, there will be a league championship tournament in May (this is included in league fees, and all teams are accepted to participate). Teams will be seeded into the league championship tournament and a league champion will be crowned at the tournament. The league champion will be awarded a paid-for entry into US Club Regionals.

Since the league is a US Club sanctioned league, teams will have the freedom of roster movement. Teams may keep up to 26 players on their roster (a maximum game roster of 18 is permitted). Players may "play up" and play on multiple rosters, as their clubs see fit. There is no need to double roster players.
