The DCTC Men's and Women's Soccer Programs are pleased to partner with MTA to host the 2015 event. All games will be played at the DCTC Soccer Complex. On-Site concessions will be available.

The Minnesota Thunder Academy College Showcase is geared to provide club teams a true showcase environment that will aid in your players being see by college coaches from Division I, II, III, and NAIA schools in the Midwest Region.

Each player will have a personal profile created and put in the hands of the attending college coaching staff's.

The Minnesota Thunder Academy College Showcase is an invitational event for Boys and Girls soccer players who want to play at the collegiate level. USSF affiliated teams registered for the 2014-2015 season are eligible for acceptance.

Rules/Information

Registration Now Open

Team Check-In

Each team is required to check-in at the Tournament Headquarter Tent located at the Ames Soccer Complex. All teams must register one hour prior to the start of their first game. Check-in includes presentation of an official team roster, permission to travel forms (out of state teams only), medical release forms and player passes which will be checked against the roster. Non-US Youth Soccer teams must provide proof of insurance at check in. Teams should confirm game times at Tournament Headquarters. This is a Showcase event therefore standings will not be kept or awards given.

U16, U17 teams are allowed a maximum of 22 players on their roster, but must designate 18 players eligible before each match.  Only 18 players are allowed to dress for each match.  Teams of all age groups may roster up to 5 guest players. Guest players must play at the same or an younger age level.  Rosters are frozen as of check-in. All players must have current player passes – NO PASS - NO PLAY. The coach or team manager must have a copy of medical release forms in his or her possession for each player and Non US Youth Soccer teams must keep proof of insurance. A player can only be rostered on one team.

Laws of the game

We will be enforcing the FIFA laws of the game as modified by MYSA (see http://www.mnyouthsoccer.org/publications/rules.cfm)

Game Format

Length of games will be:
U15 – two 40 minute halves
U16 – two 40 minute halves
U17 – two 45 minute halves

Each game will have a 10-minute break at half time – weather permitting

Uniforms

Home team wears light jersey and light socks

Away team wears dark jersey and dark socks

Substitution Procedure

All teams are allowed unlimited number of substitutions from their match roster. These substitutions may be made with the consent of the referee at the following times:

Prior to a goal kick by either team
After a goal by either team
After an injury by either team when the referee stops play
At half time
Prior to a throw in (The team in possession of the ball for a throw-in may substitute. If the team in possession of the ball chooses to substitute, the opposing team may also substitute at that time)

Referees

Referees must be currently registered with USSF. 3 Referees are assigned for all matches. Teams should be prepared, however, to provide a “club lines person” if necessary.

Concussion Policy

We will be enforcing the MN Thunder Academy Policy as defined by MYSA on concussions:

This tournament, held by the MN Thunder Academy West and sanctioned by the Minnesota Youth Soccer Association, requires compliance with Minnesota Statue 121A.37 in accordance with the MN Thunder Academy West and MYSA Concussion Policies. All participating coaches and referees are required to take concussion training.  The US Center for Disease Control and Prevention has a free, online course entitled Concussion Training for Coaches (and referees), accessible by the following link:
