President's Cup now in its 9th Year

Georgia Soccer is pleased to invite your team to apply to the Georgia Soccer President's Cup - State Championship and Festival open to Academy, Athena* and Classic* teams.

As the final event of the spring season, the President's Cup will be an exciting, competitive tournament offering great games, great fun and great results - State Champions in many divisions! Winners in the u13 and older top divisions are eligible to advance to the Regional President's Cup at the Indian Springs Sports Complex in Broken Arrow, OK in June.

Venues

Round-robin games will be played at various venues in the Atlanta area. Once divisions are finalized, groups will be assigned to venues.

Eligibility*

All Georgia Soccer registered teams in the following categories are eligible to participate.

A team may participate in the President's Cup or State Cup, but not both.

Guest players are not allowed.

Academy: all u10 and u11 teams eligible
Classic: all Classic 2 teams and lower eligible
Athena: all Athena B teams and lower eligible

We will not be hosting a U12 Division in the President's Cup. U12 teams are encouraged to enter the U12 Academy Cup - for U12 teams only.

Following is a summary of the important tournament dates.
 
February 2010 - Application available on-line.
April 2 - Application deadline.
TBD - Check-in meeting.
May 15-16 - Tournament games.
May 16 - Championship matches.
June 11-13 - Regional Tournament, Broken Arrow, OK
July 8-11 - National Tournament, Murfreesboro, TN
 


Just the facts

Tournament Eligibility
The President's Cup is open to select teams, classic*, athena* and academy registered and in good standing with their US Youth Soccer affiliated association. Age groups for this years’ tournament are u10, u11, u13, u14, u15, u16, u17 for boys and girls.

Guest players are not allowed.

The President's Cup will not have a u12 Academy Division. U12 Academy teams are eligible to compete in the Academy Cup.

Divisions
Teams will be grouped according to past playing record to make the most competitive divisions possible. The Tournament Committee alone determines final placement. The Committee uses many factors when ranking teams including league playing division and record and tournament results, etc....
