 AFC Lightning invites you to enter Lightning's Sizzlin' Summer Soccer, August 15-16, 2009.
As an early pre-season tournament our objective is to provided coaches with a venue to experiment with new ideas and to integrate new players into your team's system. Sizzlin' Summer Soccer will provide you with three competitve games without the pressure of vying for a trophy. This is your opportunity to see what you have and still give you time to make adjustments in training before you get to the bigger Labor Day tournaments or the start of your season.
TEAMS
All teams must be USYSA affiliated. Five guest players are allowed (three guests for U10 - U12). Each team is guaranteed three games. There will be no championship games. Each team will play two games on Saturday and one on Sunday or one on Saturday and two on Sunday.

Friendlies
Many don't like the idea of a "friendlies" tournament. If I win all my games, I want a trophy! But early in the pre-season is not a good time to be going all out in full competiton. Most teams will only have been training for a week or two at this point. This is a good time to get a few games to see what you have and to see what you need to work on. This is what we have in mind with the Sizzlin' Summer Soccer. Competitve games to complement your preparations for the upcoming season. I hope you will join us for this great opportunity.
