Jill Leibforth

Jill Leibforth was elevated to the role of head coach of the Winona State soccer program in the fall of 2022. In both her positions an assistant coach and head coach, Leibforth is involved in all aspects of the WSU program, including recruiting, on-field coaching, camps, staff development and team administration.


Leibforth heads into the 2023 having a strong familiarity with the program, having served as the interim head coach for much of the 2022 fall season. In that campaign, Winona State returned to the NSIC postseason for the first time since 2018. Overall, WSU finished with a 9-6-4 overall record and 7-4-4 NSIC mark. The Warriors qualified for the NSIC tournament thanks to an exciting 3-1 win over Upper Iowa on the final day of the regular season. With Leibforth at the helm, Reanne Weil and Riley Harmon both earned All-NSIC accolades.


Jill Leibforth joined the Winona State staff in July, 2022. Leibforth arrives in Winona following a six-year career as an assistant with the Duhawks, helping the perennial NCAA Division III power in women's soccer. As a part of the Loras staff, Leibforth was named to the American Rivers Conference women's soccer coaching staff of the year on four occasions. This past fall, Leibforth and Loras put together an impressive 21-1-2 overall record and a perfect 8-0 mark in the ARC, yielding regional coaching staff of the year honors after the Duhawks advanced to the NCAA Division III Final Four. Leibforth has additional coaching experience as the head girls soccer coach at Wahlert High School, a position she held from 2017 to 2022, earning league coach of the year honors in 2021.


Leibforth played high school soccer at Mother McAuley High School in Chicago and is from Evergreen Park, Illinois. Leibforth was a four-year team member at Loras, earning a bachelors degree as a dual major in marketing and psychology. In addition to her coaching duties, Leibforth served as a Sport Wellness Advisor at Loras. She earned her master's degree in counseling psychology at Loras and is currently working towards her doctorate in education in sport and performance psychology.
