Eva Meredith

Eva Meredith was appointed as the faculty head coach of Wesleyan women's soccer for the 2004 season. Coach Meredith arrived at Wesleyan after six years at the Division I level.

An accomplished Division I & III coach, she completed her 19th season in 2022. In 2008 and 2009, Eva guided Wesleyan to its first back-to-back winning seasons in 15 years and led the Cardinals to their first-ever winning NESCAC ledger in 2010. In 2009 Laura Kurash '13 was named the NESCAC Rookie of the Year followed by the 2012 NESCAC Player of the Year to end her stellar career. Wesleyan won the Little Three Championship in 2019 for the first time since 1982. Grace Devanny was named NESCAC Rookie of the Year in 2019.

The 2021 campaign was the most successful in program history as Coach Meredith led the Cardinals to the first ever NESCAC Conference Final and an NCAA Final Four semifinal appearance. The team ended up ranked No. 4 nationally. One of the most decorated players in program history, Grace Devanny '23, was named the 2021 NESCAC Player of the Year.

In 2022, the team repeated as NESCAC runner-up, qualifying for to the NCAA tournament, finishing in the top 32. The Wesleyan women’s soccer program has seen tremendous growth under Coach Meredith’s leadership and has developed into a nationally recognized program.

Before Wesleyan, Eva coached at the NCAA Division I University of Hartford for six years, her first three as assistant women's soccer coach and the last three as head coach. During her tenure, Hartford won three American East conference titles and competed in the NCAA Division I championships five times, reaching the Sweet Sixteen in 1998 and Elite Eight in 1999.

An outstanding soccer player both on the national level in her home country of Sweden and as a collegian at Franklin Pierce University in New Hampshire, Eva was a National Team player for Sweden from 1989-1991 and a premier league player there from 1986-1992. Attending Franklin Pierce from 1992-1995, Eva was a four-time all-New England choice, a three-time NCAA First team All-American and the NCAA Division II National Player of the Year as a freshman. She was also a two-time academic All-American and a three-year team captain as Franklin Pierce reach the NCAA Final Four all four years during her tenure and captured NCAA National Championship titles in both 1994 and 1995.

Besides coaching soccer at Wesleyan, Coach Meredith is a faculty advisor to the Student Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) as well as an academic advisor. She is teaching indoor cycling and pickleball as her Physical Education duties. In her leisure time, Eva is a competitive pickleball player and has won numerous tournaments both in mixed doubles and women’s doubles.

Coach Meredith hails from Stockholm, Sweden and holds a bachelor’s degree in graphic design and media theory from Franklin Pierce University and a master’s degree in Recreation and Sports Science with a concentration in coaching pedagogy from Ohio University. She is a graduate of the NCAA Women Coaches Academy and holds a US Soccer B-license.

Coach Meredith is married and resides in Madison, Connecticut.

Jason Weisberg

Jason Weisberg is entering his third season as the associate head coach and recruiting coordinator for the Wesleyan women's soccer team in 2023. Weisberg joined the Cardinal coaching staff following a seven-year stint at Div. I Fairleigh Dickinson University in Teaneck, N.J.

In his first season with the Cardinals in 2021, the program put together the most successful season in program history, setting a single-season wins record (18), qualifying for the NCAA Tournament for the first time and going on an incredible run to the Final 4. Wesleyan was ranked as high as No. 4 in the coaches' poll throughout the 2021 campaign and achieved the best NESCAC season in program history (8-1-1 record) while advacing to the NESCAC title game for the first time in team history. At season's end, Wesleyan was honored with United States Region Staff of the Year for the first time in program history.

In 2019, FDU reached the third NEC Championship Game in program history and the Knights finished conference play undefeated with a 7-0-3 mark. Weisberg helped guide goaltender Amanda Fitzgerald to earn NEC Co-Goalkeeper of the Year and All-NEC First Team honors. Fitzgerald graduates as the program leader in saves, shutouts, and save percentage. The Knights also had Christa Waterman earn All-NEC First Team Honors and Maja Skansberg receive All-NEC Rookie Honors.

Weisberg and the Knights reached the NEC Semifinals in 2018. The Burgundy and Blue had Stasi Torchia and Samantha Roff earn All-NEC First Team Honors and Madelyn Robbins and Noam Kedem receive All-NEC Rookie Team Accolades.

In 2017, the Knights claimed their third Northeast Conference regular season title in four seasons with Weisberg, and he helped guide three First Team All-NEC performers, including NEC Rookie of the Year Sofia Albertsson, along with two Second Team All-NEC and two NEC All-Rookie honorees.

Weisberg coached an additional six All-NEC performers, including two first-team, a second-team and three all-rookie honorees in 2016. The Knights made the NEC Tournament for the third straight season.

In 2015 (16-6), Weisberg helped the Knights claim both the NEC regular season title (8-0) -- the program's second straight -- and the Northeast Conference Tournament title for the first time. The NEC Title clinched an automatic birth into the NCAA Tournament for the Knights -- first appearance in program history. The Knights also had the program's first NEC Player of the Year -- Amanda Goulet, Golden Boot Award Winner -- Rachel Hoekstra, NEC Rookie of the Year -- Jessi Reinhardt, three All-NEC First Team selections, one Second Team nod and a pair of All-Rookie Team members.

In 2014, Weisberg helped the Knights set a then program record for wins with a 14-6-1 record. The Knights also finished first in the NEC during the regular season and finished as the runner’s-up in the NEC Championship.

Weisberg came to Teaneck from Iona College, where he was the women's assistant coach from 2006-10. In 2009 season, the Gaels finished third in the MAAC conference at the end of the regular season marking their best finish in over 15 years.

Prior to arriving at Iona, Weisberg was an assistant coach for the men’s program at Manhattan College. He has also been at Division II Dominican College with the men, where he was an assistant from 2002 to 2004 and helped the team to the CACC Conference championship in 2002. Dominican reached the CACC semifinals in 2003 and was conference champions again in 2004.

Weisberg is a member of the Region 1 ODP coaching staff and has been on the staff for the ENYYSA Olympic Development (ODP) Program as a head coach since 2002 working on both the boys' and girls' sides.

Weisberg is currently a Director at NY Rush and was a Director of Coaching at Manhattan Soccer Club in NYC for many years. He has also spent time at TSF Academy and coached teams in the Super Y League, and in 2008 helping the Super G20's to the national finals. He had coached the Women's Open Team for Hudson Valley in the Empire State Games from 2002-2008 as well as coaching with many youth clubs in Westchester.

He was a former director of coaching for Middlepath/Yorktown FC Jaguars, one of the first premier Girls soccer clubs in Westchester, for six years, preparing them to play collegiate soccer at the highest levels. He then moved on to coach with top-ranked Albertson SC on Long Island, where he coached their ECNL girls’ squads.

Weisberg holds a USSF "A" license and an NSCAA Premier Diploma, which he did in Curitiba, Brazil in May 2005, as it was the first U.S. coaching course ever given in Brazil. He recently was part of another soccer first when he received the NSCAA Director of Coaching Diploma (DOC) in Oct. 2005. This is the first DOC course ever given in the United States. He is also been a talent scout at US Soccer’s’ Market Training Centers in the New York and New Jersey areas.

Weisberg played his collegiate soccer at Stony Brook University and graduated in 1997 with a B.A. in psychology and holds a Masters degree in counseling psychology from Pace University. Weisberg and his wife, Jill, currently reside in White Plains, N.Y. with their two children, Sophie and Gavin.
