Emily Redman

Waynesburg University head women's soccer coach George DeAugustino is excited to announce the hiring of former Yellow Jacket standout Emily Redman as his new assistant coach. Redman just wrapped up a four-year playing career that was loaded with academic and athletic excellence.

"Emily's overall knowledge of the game and her passion for soccer and Waynesburg University make her a great addition to our coaching staff," DeAugustino said. "Her creative mind, especially in the final third, will be a great addition to our staff."

Despite battling injuries at various times in Orange and Black, Redman tallied five goals and four assists over three seasons for 14 total points. The LaPlata, Maryland, tallied those numbers over 32 games played, 25 of which were starts. In the classroom, she was honored as a member of the 2022 Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) Fall Academic Honor Roll.

"I'm very excited to be back. I loved playing here and being a part of our soccer family, so I want to continue to help our program be as successful as we can be," Redman said. "I have had the idea of becoming a coach before and I had always figured I would try it at some point, but I did not think it would be at this level at this point in my life. I'm super excited that I get this opportunity!"

The Waynesburg women's soccer team kicks off the season on Friday, Sept. 1, when it hosts the University of Mount Union at John F. Wiley Stadium. Start time is scheduled for 6 p.m.
