Chad Hollmer

Chad Hollmer was named the head men's soccer coach in December 2019.


He initially returned to St. Ambrose in the fall of 2019 as an assistant coach with both the SAU men's and women's programs that season.


Hollmer worked as the head men's soccer coach at Clarke University for three years from 2016-18.


The Davenport, Iowa, native has spent two separate stints at St. Ambrose. He worked as a graduate assistant with the SAU women's soccer team in 2009 and 2010 before returning as the full-time assistant coach in 2019.


Hollmer got his collegiate coaching start as an assistant at Mount Mercy in 2012. He also served as the head girls soccer coach at Cedar Rapids Washington and as a club coach for the Cedar River Soccer Association.


A graduate of Mount Mercy, Hollmer was a two-year soccer team captain for the Mustangs, and was a Champion of Character and Student Leadership Award recipient.


He received his Bachelor's Degree in Marketing and Business Administration from Mount Mercy and his Master's of Business Administration from St. Ambrose.

Emlyn Jacoby

Emlyn Jacoby joined St. Ambrose University in the fall of 2010 as the assistant men's soccer coach. Before coming to SAU, Jacoby served as a four-year starter for NAIA perennial powerhouse, University of Maine at Fort Kent. While at UMaine Fort Kent, Jacoby was a member of the most successful soccer program in the University’s history with a combined record of 71-6-3.


He helped the Bengals reach three NAIA National Tournaments in four years while winning four regular-season titles and four conference tournament titles. Jacoby was a three-year captain and led his 2007 team to the Sweet 16, and in 2008 to the Elite 8. Jacoby was an instrumental part of a Bengal team that was ranked No. 4 in the nation in 2009.


During his four years at UMaine Fort Kent, Jacoby was a three-time All-American, two-time academic All-American, three-time all-region team selection, four-time Conference scholar-athlete, four-time Conference first-team member, the 2006 Sunrise Conference Rookie of the Year, and UMaine Fort Kent 2007 Athlete of the Year. Jacoby currently holds UMaine Fort Kent records for single-season (21) and career (60) assists. He was inducted into the Hall of Fame at Fort Kent in 2011.


Jacoby, a native of Johannesburg, South Africa, was also part of the Maine Sting, captaining the NPSL team in their inaugural season in 2008. Jacoby is served as a co-captain of the NPSL Quad City Eagles. During their 2013 campaign, the team won the Midwest Conference Central Division for the first time in club history. Jacoby started his career as a member of the WITS University FC Academy of Excellence in South Africa. He also was a junior national team member for his native country.


Jacoby has years of coaching experience working with players of all ages. While in South Africa, Jacoby was heavily involved in youth soccer. During his tenure in the U.S., he has been actively involved with many high schools and soccer camps.


Jacoby earned his undergraduate degree in business administration from the University of Maine at Fort Kent, and his Master's of Business Administration at St. Ambrose University in 2012.
