Mike Winn

Mike Winn recently completed his 16th year as the Associate Athletics Director at Pace University, while finishing his 23rd season coaching the women's soccer program in 2023.

Winn founded Pace Women's Soccer in 1998 and joined the Northeast-10 Conference as a full member for the 1999 season. As the head of the program, he has guided the Setters to seven post-season appearances. During his tenure, he coached the Setters to six straight seasons of .500 or better from 2001-2006. Winn has also coached 14 All-Region selections, three NE-10 Goalkeepers of the Year, 28 All-Conference players, five Academic All-District players, three Academic All-Americans, and an NE-10 Defensive Player of the Year. In addition, the Setters have excelled in the classroom under Coach Winn garnering seven consecutive United Soccer Coaches Team Academic Awards.

Most recently, Pace is coming off of a 7-7-2 season in 2023 improving upon their previous season of 6-8-3.

Winn led the Setters to one of their best seasons in program history in 2019. The Blue and Gold put together an 11-7-1 record, which included a 9-1 start to the season. Pace's terrific beginning was rewarded with the program's first-ever national ranking when they were slotted No. 24 in the country on Sept. 24.

Winn coached the Setters to a second consecutive Northeast-10 Championship Tournament appearance in 2017 with a 9-8-1 record. Four Setters earned All-Conference honors following strong individual performances during the season: Senior Drew Ribadeneyra was named to the NE10 First Team, senior Hayley Pascoal and junior Victoria Kealy to the Second Team, and senior Emma Sinanan to the conference’s Third Team.

The Setters had one of their best seasons in program history in 2016 under Winn. Not only did the Blue and Gold tie a school record for wins, Coach Winn's squad advanced to the championship game of the Northeast-10 Tournament for the first time in school history. Individually Ribadeneyra was named the 2016 Northeast-10 Conference Defensive Player of the Year, and was joined by four more on the Northeast-10 All-Conference Teams. Alyssa Zeoli and Pascoal were each selected to the Second Team, senior midfielder Delany Williams made the Third Team, and freshman Amanda Duddy was tabbed to the All-Rookie Team.

In 2014, Winn led the Setters to an overall record of 11-10 (8-6 in the conference) and a berth into their first NE-10 Conference Tournament since the 2011. Following the impressive season, Alyssa Zeoli was named a Daktronics/Division II Conference Commissioner’s Association All-American and Capital One Academic All-American after earning a 3.69 GPA. Additionally, Jillian Ferro set all-time program highs in goals (27) and points (69) while being named to the Daktronics/Division II Conference Commissioner’s Association All-East Region Team and the NSCAA All-East Region Team. Both players were also selected to the NE-10 First-Team All-Conference squads as well. Coach Winn earned 2011 Northeast-10 Conference Coach of the Year after the Setters qualified for the NE-10 Championship Tournament for the first time since 2004.

As the Associate Athletic Director for Operations, Winn is in control of the day-to-day internal operations of the athletic department including overseeing aquatics, equipment, facilities, game operations, and the sports medicine department.

I have had a profile on SINC Soccer for 4 years, and it helped me to organize my information so that I was ready when the recruiting process started. I had selected some schools using your site when I was 13 and that helped to start the conversation with those schools and find out about their ID camps, and when UNC made an offer I was prepared.
