Dennis Bohn

In 23 seasons under the guidance of Dennis Bohn, the Lafayette men's soccer program has produced nothing but winning teams. Bohn has led the Leopards to winning seasons in 15 of his 23 years on College Hill, three Patriot League championships and three NCAA Tournament berths. His overall record entering his 23rd season at Lafayette is 180-144-74. His overall Patriot League record is 80-75-36.


Lafayette garnered its third Patriot League Championship under Bohn in 2012 after the Leopards defeated American in the Patriot League Championship Game to earn an automatic bid in the NCAA Tournament and a meeting with Virginia in the first round. A late goal by the Cavaliers ended Lafayette's championship year at 9-8-4, and also marked the first goal the Leopards surrendered to an opponent in 553:47 of game action, a streak the Leopards carried through the end of the regular season and into the NCAA Tournament.


The Leopards tied for the Patriot League lead with eight clean sheets on the year, all of which were backed by goalkeeper Nathan McDonald, who earned Patriot League Tournament MVP honors. Alec Golini '14, Brandon Turner '14 and Sean Peckham '13 were recognized as All-Patriot League performers, with Peckham and Turner claiming All-Mid-Atlantic honors as well.


Bohn's teams also achieve academically, as his 2013 squad earned the NSCAA College Team Academic Award for the seventh straight year and posted a 3.17 grade point average for the 2012-13 academic year, third-highest in the Patriot League. Eleven of Bohn's student-athletes landed on the Patriot League Academic Honor Roll, rounding out his total at 155 players honored in 13 seasons. Additionally, Ryan Dodds '15 earned a spot on the Academic All-Patriot League squad.


Success on the pitch has been a constant during Bohn's tenure on College Hill. The 2003 and 2005 teams both won the Patriot League Championship during a stretch in which the Leopards advanced to the championship game in four of five seasons.


When he arrived in Easton in 2001, Bohn guided Lafayette to winning records in 2001 and 2002 (8-4-5, 8-6-4), and boasted nationally-ranked defenses in both of those seasons. In his third year, the offense came through in key situations, including scoring seven goals over two games in the 2003 Patriot League Tournament to propel Lafayette to its third NCAA Tournament berth.


Bohn became the 18th coach in the history of Lafayette soccer on March 20, 2001 after serving two years as an assistant coach for the Leopards. Prior to coming to Lafayette, Bohn spent 1998 on the sidelines as an assistant at his alma mater, Columbia University.


Bohn graduated from Columbia in 1998 with a degree in Political Science. He was a four-year member of the soccer team and, as senior captain of the Lions, earned All-Ivy League honors as a defender. The Delran, N.J. native also earned a varsity letter in basketball his senior year at Columbia. He was inducted into the Roman Catholic High School (Philadelphia, Pa.) Sports Hall of Fame for his efforts in soccer and basketball. Bohn also played one year of professional soccer for the South Jersey Barons of the United Soccer League.


Bohn resides in Forks Township and has two sons, Cameron and Quinn.

Gabriel Robinson

Gabriel Robinson is entering his sixth season on the Lafayette men's soccer coaching staff.


In the 2022 season, Robinson helped guide Lafayette to an overall record of 9-6-4. The Leopards finished the season ranked 25th in the country for team goals-against average (0.895). Six student-athletes were named to All-Patriot League teams and two earned United Soccer Coaches All-Region recognition. Along with on-field success, multiple Leopards earned recognition for their efforts in the classroom. Marcos Kitromilides was named a United Soccer Coaches Scholar All-American, Patriot League All-Academic and to the CSC Academic All District Team. Alex Sutton and Yiannis Panayides joined Kitromilides on the CSC Academic All District Team.


The Leopards finished the fall 2021 season with a 7-7-4 record. Nick Hazel and Marcos Kitromilides were both selected to the 2021 Men's MAC Hermann Trophy Watch List, just two of 44 players to be named to the list and the only student-athletes from the Patriot League. The Leopards also had five student-athletes who were named all-conference selections, along with Sebastian Varela being named to the Patriot League All-Academic Team.


In the spring 2021 season he helped coach six all-conference selections including the Co-Defensive Player of the Year, five All-Region, an All-American and a Scholar All-American. He was part of the staff that led the Leopards to a 6-0 undefeated regular season. The Leopards also found themselves breaking into the United Soccer Coaches Top-25 poll ranked No. 24 nationally.


During the 2019 season, Robinson helped lead the Leopards to a record of 9-7-5 with an appearance in the Patriot League championship game. In its run to the championship, Lafayette compiled 10 shutouts on the season, finishing ranked 17th nationally in shutout percentage (0.476) and 31st nationally in team goals against average (0.941). .


In 2018, the Leopards were ranked in the top 50 in the nation in goals against average, along with goalkeeper Alex Sutton being ranked 27th nationally in save percentage and defender Christian Williams being named to the All-Patriot League Third Team.


During his collegiate career at Cincinnati, Robinson was a two-time Academic All-Conference selection earning honors by both the Big East and American Athletic Conferences and was one of two Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) representatives for the NCAA, working with Division I student-athletes support services. He was a contributing factor in the team’s school-record six consecutive shutouts in 2012, along with being named to the TopDrawerSoccer.com Top 100 Freshmen list. In his time at Duquesne, the Dukes recorded an all-time program record of seven consecutive shutouts, finishing the season with nine total. Robinson also has playing experience in the Philadelphia Union and New York Red Bulls Youth Academies. Prior to arriving on the Hill, he worked with the Red Bulls as a Youth Trainer in the Pre-Academy Regional Development School as well as participating in training programs.


Robinson graduated in 2016 from Duquesne University with a bachelor of arts degree in Integrated Marketing Communication.

Charlie Johnson

Johnson joined the Leopards coaching staff in February 2021, serving as the program’s goalkeeper coach.


In the 2022 season, Johnson assisted Lafayette to a record of 9-6-4 and a Patriot League tournament quarterfinal berth. Lafayette ranked No. 25 in the country for team goals-against average (0.895). Six Leopards were named to All-Patriot League Teams and two earned United Soccer Coaches All-Region honors.


During the fall 2021 season, Johnson helped lead the Leopards to a record of 7-7-4. The Leopards had five All-Patriot League selections as well as, Sebastian Varela, earning All-Patriot Academic Team. Nick Hazel and Marcos Kitromilides were both selected to the 2021 Men's MAC Hermann Trophy Watch List, out of 44 players in the entire country.


In Johnson’s first season in spring of 2021, the Leopards earned a 6-0 undefeated regular season record while winning the Patriot League North Division. Also, Johnson assisted in the program’s 13th Patriot League Championship appearance in the 31 years of the Patriot League Tournament. The Leopards also broke into the United Soccer Coaches Top-25 pool, ranked #24 nationally in the 2021 spring season. Lafayette goalkeepers ranked No. 57 in the nation in Goals Against Average with a 0.98. Johnson coached an All-American selection, the Co-Defensive Patriot League Player of the Year, five All-Region selections, and six All-Patriot League selections.


Prior to Johnson’s arrival, he also served as a first-assistant and goalkeeper coach for Pennsylvania State University – Harrisburg men’s program for two years. During his tenure, PSU Harrisburg captured its first North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) Championship and appeared in the NCAA Division III Soccer Championship Tournament for the first time in program history. In the fall 2019 season, PSU Harrisburg goalkeepers ranked first in the nation for regular-season shutouts (12 shutouts). Johnson also assisted in setting a new single-season win record (15 wins) with a 15-6-1 record.


From 2017-2019, Johnson served as the first assistant and goalkeeper coach at McDaniel College. While there, he assisted the program to its first winning season and playoff berth in 12 years. Also Johnson assisted helped push McDaniel to the program’s best defensive record for total goals-against in 20 years. Johnson and McDaniel compiled a record of 16-14-5 over two seasons.


Johnson attended York College of Pennsylvania, where he had a four-year playing career that included a Capital Athletic Conference title and a trip to the NCAA Division III Sweet Sixteen in 2013. He was a two-year team captain and appeared in 56 games for the Spartans, fourth all-time. Johnson also ranks in the top five of all goalkeeper records at York College.


He graduated from York College with a Bachelor’s degree in Sport Management and a minor in athletic coaching in 2017. He later earned his Master’s Degree in Kinesiology from McDaniel College in 2019. Johnson holds a United Soccer Coaches Advanced National Diploma and a United Soccer Coaches Goalkeeper Level 3 diploma.
